Life on a rainy day
Woke up early (had crashed early last night after the squash game). Was up and about by 7:00 am. It must have been really early cause even the papers had not arrived (so either early or something wrong). A look out of the window seemed to suggest that the rain god, probably gratified with us Bombay citizens, had decided to open the tap. Not quite the entire repertoire of his celestial exhibition, but definitely a fast running tap. Intended to hit the road a little early. Wanted to possibly avoid traffic. The tap however was quite unrelenting and hence had to postpone a planned 8:15 departure to 9:00, then 10:00 and then 11:00. Yes I am an optimist, but I kinda get the hint and threw in the towel by then.
So what does one do a rainy day? Well for starters actually got around to clearing a bit of the mess that I deign to call my living quarters (just my room; nothing fancy). This was catalyzed by the need to pay a card bill and my inability to locate the statement. Got to update most files and then gave up. There is only so much of this task that I can do. Success = got the statement and seem to have lost nothing.
That done (not satis; but makeshift) now what? Checked the berry; nothing earth-shattering that required my immediate attention. Decided to call the boss (Agreed I have more than the nos of digits on my hands, am referring to the guy who sits in Delhi and actually signs the appraisal sheet). Guess he had stuff to do and after giving me an ear for a couple of mins signed of with the promise to call back. Am still waiting. Sifting through the papers, came to the movie adds. Superman stared out, now for the right cos. Many options you might say but after failed attempts “ye-old-gang” faithfully answers the call. 4:00 o-clock show at Globus. Promise to review.
Guess you’ve got the drift that had called quite a few people by now, and received a few as well. Perhaps it’s the weather but while I got some good news, heard some stuff that surprised me and some other things, am overall melancholic. Its 3:15 now and got to head to the theatre. Yes we are walking. You guys are well aware of std practice # 765; if in Bandra walk.
Don’t think this gives any of us a clue on what we could do on a rainy day. Am not too keen on today so far. Look forward to the footer match tonite. Support old favorites Azzurri.
